Cardiac- Electro Physiology

The cardiology department in Alsalam hospital provides a vast number of services to diagnose and treat patients with different cardiovascular diseases. These include coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular and congenital heart disease as well as heart rhythm problems. We use the most advanced tools of diagnosis and strive to follow the most recent guidelines in the management of different cardiovascular diseases.

We offer the following diagnostic and therapeutic services:

Noninvasive diagnostics:

			Resting and stress Electrocardiogram (ECG)
			Two dimenstional echocardiography to evaluate heart chamber dimensions, ventricular function as well as heart valves structure and function.
			Stress and transosophageal echocardiography.
			Holter 24- and 48-hours ECG monitoring to study heart rhythm anomalies over extended period of time.
			Holter 24-hour blood pressure (BP) monitoring to measure patient’s BP during his routine daily activities.

Invasive diagnosis and treatment

			Coronary angiography to evaluate and manage coronary artery diseases.
			Emergency primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) in acute myocardial infarction in order to aspirate thrombi, or place coronary stents

Cardiac Electrophysiology Department

			This is a subdivision of the cardiology department dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias and other electrical disorders of the heart. After diagnosis of the condition through our team of highly skilled and experienced electro- physiologists, treatment may include medication, catheter ablation, implantable devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators, and/or cardiac resynchronization therapy.

Critical Coronary Care Unit

			Al Salam Hospital also has a recently renovated Coronary Critical Care Unit (CCU) equipped with the latest up to date machines, in single cubicles for patient privacy and is available around the clock (24/7) for the admission of emergency cases
